Experience farm life at our secluded permaculture homestead. Cozy, clean and comfortable and just across the street from the animal barn which houses our horses, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens and livestock guardian dog (all super friendly and VERY into cuddles).
Conveniently located just minutes from Amherst town center (4 miles). A perfect woodland getaway with easy access to the Robert Frost Trail and Metacomet Monadnock Trail.
The Space
Our farm is located on a quiet, rural dirt road, surrounded by forest and edged by a babbling brook. Here, my mother and I, as well as a crew of seasonal interns, work to realize a vision for our 13 acres in which the land both provides for our survival needs and is made healthier in the process. You can help support this vision by staying with us!
Built in 1812, our farm house is rustic, though well kept. The bedroom itself is separate from the other downstairs living spaces and has a private feel. Our friendly Border Collie, Elka, will greet you as you arrive. In your free time, head over to the animal barn to say hi to our goats, sheep, chickens, duck, horses and livestock guardian dogs.  Clearly, being an animal lover is a must for this farm stay.

"The Traveler's room was so cozy with many good books to choose from to read. The farm is peaceful and charming. I loved making friends with all the dogs. Zoe was quick to respond and welcoming. I recommend this for anyone who loves animals and curling up in a cozy nook with soft pillows and a book. I read there are hiking trails. "This is a magical place to stay! Everything from arrival to the comfort of the bed to the ease of coming and going to looking out the window and seeing the animals eating in the morning was charming. It’s also wonderfully quiet there - very few or even no cars passing in the night. It’s also remarkably well heated for a house in the country on three very cold winter nights it was still comfy.Zoe is a fantastic host and goes out of her way if you ask her for anything extra and at the same time leaves you to yourself if that’s what you want.
